Hi Wei,

I am a big fan of your webpage and the recipes you introduce. I have been living some time in Asia and your recipes provide an easy way to cook delicious Chinese food. Chop Suey is a fast prepared and delicious meal. I have also tried several others of your recipes and I love all of them. One of my favourites is the Peking Duck. We had it for the Chinese New Year Celebration and it was a big success. The next one will be served for my Birthday celebration.

Thank you for your awesome recipes and the way you communicate them. You make us gweilos very happy.

I recommended it already to a lot of friends as I cannot think of a better source for easy authentic Chinese cooking.

Thank you Annie for being honest and for sharing your perspective. I understand where you’re coming from. Chop suey is part of international Chinese cuisine, which developed outside China and reflects a different context and audience. While it isn’t commonly found in China, I still see it as one expression of the diversity of Chinese cuisine and its history abroad.

I suggest mixing all the condiments first and leaving out the starch. The sauce base will keep well in the fridge for several months. Stir in the starch right before cooking for the best texture.
