Very different and easy to make. Anise comes through just right. Surprisingly not overly sweet. Very apt warning about burning the sauce, I had a little burnt sugar on the side of my wok. If this happens to anyone else scrub it off right away. I’ll make it again for sure.

Yes indeed! The sweet taste of Coca-Cola lends chicken wings a caramelized flavor. Happy cooking!

I will try to make this.
I assume this will have a sweetish, carmelized taste?

In reply to Wei Guo.

Hi wei,
I finally got around to making this. Everyone, especially my 15 yr old Niece absolutely loved them. I say wings…I picked up what I thought were two packs of chicken wings. Yes, one pack was indeed chicken wings, the other, which was underneath turned out to be drumsticks.
I took inspiration from your potato recipe and spiced up some oven chips to serve with them and a simple salad.
A very easy yet full flavoured meal that everyone loved.

thankyou,
Paul:-)

What a fun memory! You’re right, the soy adds that same savory balance. I’d love to hear how the wings turn out when you try them!

I will definitely try this one very soon.
Years ago my German friend cooked a smoked Ham joint in Coca Cola and red wine. I thought he was mad, at the time but the result was divine. The sweetness of the Cola offset the saltiness of the Ham perfectly. The use of Soy in your recipe is the salt from the Ham in essence.
I’ll let you know how the wings turn out.

Paul:-)

Happy to know this recipe works with pork ribs as well.
